Small Blue Marble

By Patricia Shih

in Leap of Faith by Patricia Shih

Lyrics

I have here a small blue marble

Round and cool and clean and fine

I must hold it very gently

Lest it shatter for all time

Mother gave it to her children

I will give it to my own

They will pass it on to their young

Sons and daughters, on and on

La la la la la la la...

I don't know how long it's been here

Maybe since all time began

I could look at it forever

Spinning slowly in my hand

Though it seems so everlasting

I could lose it easily but

I will keep it safe from all harm

I will love it carefully

La la la la la la la...

I won't trade my small blue marble

Not for copper, nor for gold

All its value and its beauty

Can't be priced and can't be sold

But we can share this small blue marble

If you'll love it as I do

Together we'll enjoy its treasures

It's our hands it's trusted to

La la la la la la la...

I have here a small blue marble

Round and cool and clean and fine

I must hold it very gently

Lest it shatter for all time
