Different Kind of Playground

By Faith Funk
in So Much Love by Faith Funk

Lyrics

There's a tree for climbing, stones for stepping and a hill for rolling down.
There's soft grass for sitting, rocks for throwing and dandelions for making crowns.
There are branches for swinging, sticks for digging, and lots of good dirt to go around.
This place I'm describing is fresh and inviting; it's one of my favourite playgrounds.

This is a different kind of playground, unlike many other playgrounds I have seen.
I come here ev'ry day to think and rest and play.
My backyard is a playground nat'rally.
This is a different kind of playround. It isn't plastic, yellow, red, or blue.
There's no merry-go-round to ride, no teeter totter, no slippery slide,
But there's plenty of fun here for me and you.

There are trails for hiking, a creek for fishing, a ravine for climbing up and down.
There are logs for sitting, pine cones for throwing, and maple leaves for making crowns.
There are branches for swinging, sticks for digging, and lots of good dirt to go around.
This place I'm describing is fresh and inviting; it's one of my favourite playgrounds.

This is a different kind of playground, unlike many other playgrounds I have seen.
There's always something new for you and me to do.
This forest is a playground nat'rally.
This is a different kind of playground, a forest full of wonders small and grand.
There's no merry-go-round to ride, no teeter totter, no slippery slide.
This playground wasn't made by human hands.
Certainly this is a different kind of playground.
