All the Way Around the World

Katherine Dines’ simple yet well-crafted song softens the heart and brings a smile to the listener’s face. So it is no wonder it was chosen as the name of the 2017 Children’s Music Network Annual International Conference in Hyannis, Massachusetts and the designated CMN anthem for this issue. It is not only easy to sing, but is perfect for classroom use. Katherine suggests that students “zip” their own words into the song, learn to sign, create a story, or pretend they are going to foreign lands and learn about their destinations. It can be used as a springboard to discussion on exploration, the world, continents, oceans, or even transportation.
