Get ready to smell the salt air, delight in the amazing fall foliage, embrace new and old friends, and sing with the best. Come and fill all your senses in beautiful Hyannis, Massachusetts at the Resort and Conference Center. This year’s gathering is a three-day weekend filled with singing, networking, information-packed workshops, and much more.
The schedule of twenty workshops encompasses everything from an intriguing sign language master class to a literacy-based song swap. Explore “Music in the Elementary Classroom” and “Moving from Fear to Friendship Through Music.” But wait: there is also “Let Your Yoga Dance for Children” and a song swap called “Meaningful Songs for These Times.” All the fantastic workshops can’t be listed here, so please check out the full schedule and workshop descriptions on the CMN website.
We are excited to have Canadian roots music legend Ken Whiteley as our keynote speaker on Saturday. Ken has been an active, vital member of CMN since 1991. He has served as a producer for over 135 albums for the likes of Raffi, Fred Penner, Cathy Fink, Marcy Marxer, Kathy Reid-Naiman, Debbie Carroll, and many others. Hearing Ken speak guarantees a thought-provoking and enjoyable time for all.
We are also delighted to have Sally Rogers as our Magic Penney recipient. The Magic Penny Award is a lifetime achievement award given to those who have dedicated their lives to empowering children through music. Sally touches and inspires both children and adults with her music, songwriting, and performances, but her talents run further and deeper. She is also a passionate educator, artist, and author. We are looking forward to honoring her in song and story.
Be sure to bring your swimsuit to take advantage of the pool, and athletic wear for the gym. CMN members will also offer always-popular morning yoga sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Included in this terrific weekend will also be a Silent Auction, Sales Tables, Contra Dancing, Glad Rags, and Late Night Jamming. Come make memories with us!
