Lesson materials with activities, visual aids, videos etc are available here. Have the children start their own garden. Discuss the differences between things that are alive and not alive. Create an Alive/Not Alive bulletin board (have the children cut out pictures from magazines of things that are alive and not alive. Visit a botanical garden or arboretum. Re-pot a house plant with the children and have them view the roots, pat the dirt down, place the plant in a sunny window, and water the plant.
