Building a Better World

In 2001, I was performing a concert at an elementary school in Charlton, Massachusetts. The theme for the school was "Building a Better World One Person at a Time." The bulletin board lining the long hallway outside of the auditorium was covered with the handprints of all the students from the school, and the theme was written on the bulletin board (as well as other places in the school) in large letters. It was quite a visual! I stood there looking at it and then the song just came to me in one fell swoop. I marvel at the simplicity of the song and am reminded that sometimes simple is exactly what is called for.
