So Many Stars
Words and music by Dorothy Cresswell

Dorothy says, “‘So Many Stars’ was written about midway through my teaching career. I had taken my class of kindergartners to see the Fourth Grade Invention Fair. They were very impressed (and so was I) with the variety and cleverness of the inventions. Yet every day I witnessed the kindergartners coming up with new ways of constructing with large and small blocks, using craft materials, and playing together indoors and out. I saw endless possibilities in them, too. Endless, like the stars. I wanted them to know that the inventors of the everyday wonders that we take for granted now (like lights, phones, and cars) were once little kids, exploring with string and wheels and sound! Just like any day in any school or home or backyard or basement. So have fun singing this, and feel free to add more verses!”
