Drip, Drop, Ripple

From Heidi: I am graced with a daughter who has struggled with sleep from the day she was born. Her difficulties with sleep have given me tremendous inspiration in my songwriting. As soon as she has gotten used to one bedtime song/story, she wants a brand new one. "Drip Drop Ripple" originally came out of our listening to raindrops falling on the fire escape outside her bedroom window. Drip…drop…drip…drop.

Before I sing this song with kids, I begin by asking if they've ever dropped a pebble in water. What happens? I compare it to smiling at someone (or treating someone kindly in one way or another) and watching how that one smile ripples out, like the pebble in the water, from person to person, smile after smile.
