Lyrics

Here I am in uniform the First Day of School

Book sack hanging on my back, Man I look Cool!

Lunch bag stuffed with my favorite food, momma's at my side

Look at me I’m a Big Boy now.  Eyes don’t start to cry.

Paper, Pencils, Crayons, Scissors, Markers and Glue

In my new supply box, my name is on there too.

Placed inside my book bag, I’m ready to begin

I’ve met my teacher in the yard.  Please don't take me in.

IT’S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

EVERYTHING IS SO BRAND NEW. WHAT AM I TO DO

ON THE FIRST DAYOF SCHOOL. THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

MOMMA, PLEASE DON’T SAY GOODBYE

ON MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

It’s not that I don’t want to learn and make you proud of me

I don’t want to leave you at home by yourself you see.

There’s my friend from 2 doors down, this may not be so bad.

We can play at recess with toys I hid in my bag

Now I'm sittin' in my desk, this is kind of neat.

The teacher asks if we know our numbers and A, B, C’s.

Each of us says our name, so we can become friends.

We play Games, Draw and Color.  I hope this never ends.

(Repeat Chorus)

Here I am in Uniform, The first Day of School

Walking out my Classroom Door. Man! That was cool.

Mom and Dad, waitin' for me by the schoolyard gate.

You know this wasn’t bad at all. Tomorrow! Just can’t wait

FOR MY 2ND DAY OF SCHOOL, THE 2ND DAY OF SCHOOL

EVERYTHING IS SO BRAND NEW, BUT I KNOW WHAT TO DO.

ON MY 2ND DAY OF SCHOOL, MY 2ND DAY OF SCHOOL

MOMMA PLEASE, SAY GOODBYE. IT’S MY 2ND DAY OF SCHOOL

MOMMA, DON’T YOU CRY ON MY 2ND DAY OF SCHOOL.

MOMMA JUST SAY GOODBYE ON MY 2ND DAY OF SCHOOL
