Gari Stein

Gari Stein is an early childhood music-movement specialist, a child development enthusiast and an advocate for play-based education. Gari has a degree in Psychology with a focus in Infant Mental Health and Dance. A research assistantship for a Fetal Alcohol Syndrome study influenced her work in nurturing relationships. Gari founded Music For Little Folks—a community music school for infants to kindergarteners and the grown-ups who love them. With over 40 years of experience as an educarer, she is an enthusiastic teacher, passionate about providing a rich musical environment for every child. She takes her programs into libraries, schools and agencies, is a popular clinician throughout the Midwest, and developed the KinderConcert series for the Ann Arbor Symphony. Her credits include: Sing With Me, a music-movement curriculum for babies to 5s, numerous articles and an award recipient for The More we Get Together: Nurturing Relationships Through Music, Play, Books & Art. Gari is a devoted grandmother who sings ad nauseam to mark every possible occasion and resides in Ann Arbor, MI.
